MOGADISHU, Somalia - Although they are sometimes victims of war and other calamities, women could be the people, after all, playing integral roles in the war against the Al-Shabaab insurgency within Somalia and across the border, given their supportive roles within the group. The Al-Shabaab militants have thrived for the last decade years given the heavy extortion in terms of taxes from local businesses with some reports indicating that they could also be receiving foreign aid from unknown groups who are against Somalia's stability.
