MOGADISHU, Somalia - By Friday, authorities in the Somali region of Ethiopia confirmed that over 100 Al-Shabaab militants have been killed within Ethiopia following their strategic crossover to the country, which has rarely faced the militants inside her territory.
The militants stormed the border towns of Yeed and Aato which are manned by elite Liyu police officers from the Somali state, forcing a deadly clash with left dozens of people dead. It was the first time Al-Shabaab was waging a battle along the Somalia-Ethiopia border.
