MOGADISHU, Somalia – Salaam Somali Bank on Thursday provided micro-finance funds to small businesses in Medina district, Benadir region, as part of the ongoing Qardu Hassan program.
The Beneficiaries present at the ceremony held in the bank’s Medina branch said they were very happy with the investment made by Salaam Somali Bank, thanking the bank's management for the support.
Qardu Hassan Investment Program, which is in its second year, is planned to be extended to all regions of Somalia by the Bank and has now reached several regions.
The business owners who previously got the investment say they have made good progress and are achieving their development goals, praising the bank for its role in reviving the country's economy.
“It is an exemplary step for what the Bank is doing, and it is a factor that will play a major role in strengthening the country's economy, by helping innovative businesses,” said Qardu Hassan Recipient.
Salaam Somali Bank is a privately owned bank headquartered in the country's capital, Mogadishu.
