Danab commandos kill seven Shabaab militants in Somalia
MOGADISHU- The Somali National Army (SNA) Special Forces, commonly known as Danab, have killed at least seven militants in an operation against the militant group Al-Shabaab.
Al-Shabaab controls large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia, where the militants have installed parallel administrations.
For months, the Special Forces have been working closely with the US Africa Command and the African Union Mission Forces (AMISOM), who have transitioned to African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
